Ryan Surratt
Hey, I’m Ryan Surratt, and I’m grateful to serve as Pastor of First Baptist Church of Wills Point.
Whether you’re new or just checking things out, you’re welcome here just as you are.
My story is one of God’s grace. I was saved and baptized as a boy in Grand Saline, and the Lord has continued to guide my calling to preach and shepherd His people.
My ministry focuses on three things: Exalt the Savior, Equip the Saint, and Evangelize the sinner. I teach Scripture verse by verse with real-life application so you can live it out daily.
My wife Mandy and I have four sons, and life stays full. I’m also a proud Aggie, Class of 2012.

Music Minister and Pianist
Our Music Ministry is led by Music Minister Phil Alford, accompanied by his wife Rhonda on piano. Together, they guide the congregation in a blend of traditional hymns and contemporary worship music, drawing hearts toward praise and worship of God.
Exalt the Savior
We exist to glorify God through Biblical preaching and to promote Jesus, who gives “life and life abundantly” (John 10:10), as the Way of Salvation, for all who call upon His name.
Equip the Saint
We aim to equip the saints through the teaching of God’s Word, prayer, worship, and discipleship so they may grow strong in their faith and live out the gospel in everyday life.
Evangelize the Sinner
God calls us to evangelize those outside of God’s saving grace by compassionately sharing the gospel and proclaiming the hope found in Jesus Christ.
Our History
First Baptist Church of Wills Point was founded in 1873 and is one of the oldest churches in the community.
For more than 150 years, the church has remained rooted in biblical teaching, faithful worship, and a commitment to sharing the gospel.
Through every season, God has sustained our church as a steady presence in the heart of downtown Wills Point.
Today, First Baptist continues its legacy of faith, discipleship, and service for generations to come.
